Debbie Scheer

Debbie Scheer, BAS, is a licensed benefit auctioneer, professional emcee and live event fundraising consultant based in Denver, Colorado, working with nonprofits and schools nationwide. She graduated from the World Wide College of Auctioneering in 2016, holds the Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS) designation, and has since taken the stage at nearly 500 fundraising events, from intimate 60-person dinners to galas with more than 1,000 guests.

Debbie came to auctioneering from two very different worlds. She started her career in nonprofits, where she learned what’s riding on a gala night, and spent years as a stand-up comedian and comedy producer, where she learned to read a room and shift gears fast. The result is an auctioneer who keeps guests laughing while moving them to give, without pressure or guilt.

Debbie treats every event as a fundraising strategy, not just a night of calling bids. Her work includes reviewing past results, live auction strategy, paddle raise (fund-a-need) design, run of show and scripting, mission moments, and board and speaker coaching, followed by a post-event debrief. She is also a co-founder of Summit Auctioneers Collective, a team of Colorado benefit auctioneers.
